GET READY FOR HOMECOMING

A calm welcome and a practical routine

Preparing for a puppy starts with a safe home and realistic expectations. Ask Breeders Valley about your puppy’s current food and routine, and plan for supervision, rest, training, and ongoing care.

Prepare your home before arrival

  • Secure cords, household products, loose objects, and exits within the puppy’s reach.
  • Choose a safe sleeping space and a supervised play area. Prepare a suitable crate or pen if you will use one.
  • Have bowls, the food discussed with Breeders Valley, puppy-safe toys, a collar or harness, and a leash ready.
  • Check fences and gates and plan supervised bathroom breaks.
  • Agree who will be present at arrival and who will provide care during work or school hours.

Confirm the handover

Review your Shipping & Delivery Process, contact details, and confirmed schedule. Nationwide delivery is $200 per order. Transport arrangements and arrival timing are agreed individually; a checkout receipt does not guarantee a date.

Welcome your puppy gently

Allow supervised exploration of a small safe area and give your puppy a quiet place to rest. Introduce family members patiently and keep first meetings with existing pets supervised. Ask your veterinarian about precautions appropriate for your puppy and household.

Build a routine

Ask about the current feeding schedule and follow the individual guidance you receive. Plan regular supervised bathroom breaks, rest, and short play periods. Unfamiliar surroundings take adjustment; use patient, consistent training and allow breaks from attention.

Arrange ongoing care

Schedule an initial veterinary appointment and share your puppy’s individual health information. Ask your veterinarian about follow-up care and any concerns. If your puppy appears unwell, seek veterinary advice promptly.

Keep your adoption documents

Every adopted puppy receives a one-year Health Guarantee. Keep its written terms with your adoption paperwork and individual information. Contact Us with questions about your puppy or agreement.

New Puppy Expectations FAQ

What should I prioritize in the first few hours at home?

Provide a quiet supervised space, access to water, and time to rest. Follow the feeding information you receive and introduce the household gradually instead of arranging a busy welcome.

Should I expect my puppy to understand our household routine immediately?

Allow time for adjustment. Use consistent supervision and patient repetition, and agree on the same care approach across the adults responsible for the puppy.

How do I prepare for nights and workdays after arrival?

Decide where the puppy will rest and who will handle supervision and bathroom breaks. Arrange dependable care coverage before arrival rather than relying on an unsettled schedule.
